Today Bailey got her shots. She was doing awesome studying her reflection in the mirror (are babies self-aware at this age??) Suddenly she felt the sting in her leg and gave herself the most depressing, offended look. She whimpered for a couple minutes but fell right to sleep in the baby bjorn. Now I am wondering what exactly they put in those things?! She is still sleeping it off (exhibit A)
The doctor told us she is in the 10th percentile for length. So, we may need to start rethinking basketball or volleyball. Karate maybe?
The next photo is of Bailey in her latest hand-me down from Millie! We love the hat!! The little ball on top is adorable and it keeps her head so warm! Thanks Millie Moo, your friend Bailey Boo. Oh, and the onesy is from cousin Lindsay Loo!! lol.
So cute! These were her first shots right? I love that she was just looking in the mirror. Jude was looking in the mirror last week and talking to the baby in there :) She is super cute. I can't believe she is in the 10th percentile! What is she in for weight?
ReplyDeleteShe is 25 percentile for both weight and something else - head circumference? Is that a measurement they take? Anyways, she seemed to think that was average. The doc asked how tall I was and I was ashamed to say 5'5" then she asked about Justin and seemed relieved with his height! It was so funny because she said that we will keep and eye on it. What does that mean?? Evie says gravity boots. lol.
ReplyDeleteHow cute that Jude was chatting it up with himself! The big thing for Bailey right now is staring unrelentingly at inanimate objects. I find this fascinating and proceed to stare at her staring at the object. That is how time passes in our household - a lot of laying around and staring. We are working on our jedi mind tricks.
She may be small right now, but just wait...Bailey can probably pack a good punch with her brain power. I'm sorry that the the shot got her at the most unexpected time. Love to all of you! Grammy
ReplyDeleteYes, head circumference is the other one they take. What I think they mean with "keep an eye on it" is basically track it at her appointments (which they do anyways) and make sure that she is consistent. They usually aren't concerned with low weights when everything else is normal. My friend has a son who is 9 months and weighs 15lbs 14 oz. At 6 months he was 15lbs so he only gained 14 oz in 3 months, but he has been low weight all along so it's not really a drop or slow down. That is what they often look for. Does that make sense?
